This interactive and very popular event will provide you with methods for increasing the involvement of local people in environmental projects. Using lessons from our own work, the day begins by looking at what encourages people to get involved and ends by designing involvement opportunities in your own projects and activities. The event will be of interest to staff working in environmental and countryside situations who work with communities as part of their job, including community forest staff, rangers, rights of way and access staff, project managers, field and project officers, woodland officers, rural community councils and local authority staff. New Course This new event explores the background behind carbon footprinting and the methodologies that exist in order to calculate a carbon footprint for an organisation. It explains the difference between carbon footprinting and eco footprinting. It looks at the data required for the calculation, how to set objectives and targets using carbon footprinting data, how to reduce an organisation’s carbon footprint through behavioural change and technology, and may touch on relevant legislation.
